Seems like you really want a SD phone. For SD you would get oneplus 6 instead only a little bit more or a Xiaomi with SD still better than this except audio. Rang JB and got them to put a G7 on hold. Got there a few hours later and they had mistakenly sold it. No others in Perth Metro. Offered to sell me a comparable phone for the same price.

After the tried selling me an oppo, they then offered Pixel 3aXL and said it was comparable. Store was closing to I bought on their recommendation. Have just looked up specs and it is no where near the G7. Nearest would be the Pixel 3XL!!! Going to take it back tomorrow. Any suggestions on something similar to G7 I could ask for. Suggest you don't buy any alternative from JB right now. Just return it and get the money back.

I like the pixel's nore frequent software updates! Once you entered the developer mode, there is an option to disable OEM unlock. I am guessing that allows you to unlock the bootloader on G7.

Never tried… and unclear why some people claimed G7 has an unlockable bootloader.
