Gsmarena measure the maximum in call voice volume at 72 dB and ring volume at 86 dB , and reports that the sound is very clear. Gsmarena has not reviewed the Meizu X8 and may not ever review the Meizu X8. I went to the dreaded Youtube "reviews" and watched a few to see if anybody would comment on the audio with no luck. Meizu tends to have a good track record with audio output, but very few phones with a single down firing speaker reach 72 dB maximum voice volume.

I'm hard of hearing and struggle to understand what people are saying to me on the phone, which is worse if the person has an accent which for some unknown reason seems to happen to me a lot recently. So I want the best audio output I can get.

My guess, just a guess, is that the Poco has better audio output than the Meizu X8, just because 72 dB is about as good as it's going to get. But after a certain volume it doesn't really help me to raise the volume higher. I have trouble with the sounds, with understanding the words, but blasting the volume doesn't really help.

So the Poco is loud enough for me for sure, and the Meizu is likely loud enough for me but that's not a sure thing. So, to dodge your question, ks, I wouldn't care to order either phone for me. I want stereo speakers with a front firing earpiece speaker and nether phone has that. I don't like the size or weight of the Poco and I don't need its processing power. If the price were equal on the two phones and I was buying one as a gift for a friend 10 out of 10 times I would buy the Poco. It just is a more well rounded phone with no weaknesses that I know of.

I wouldn't know if my friend likes to play action games, for example, where the Poco has a huge advantage. The Meizu X8 is a cute phone at a value price. That's just me, well, and a few others who have posted here. It is my opinion that in general newer phones tend to beat older phones. And getting an older phone on a deep discount is a trap to be avoided usually. A newly release model in the base configuration often gives you the best value.

And get the color that fits your personality. White, blue, red, actually sammy has the S8 in a nice red, lilac, or blue, among other colors.

I bought mine on the Meizu Store on Aliexpress. When I got the phone a earlier version of G-firmware was installed. However, it was not possible to update it OTA so I downloaded 7. I dont expect a lot of updates on the global firmware. Meizu have a really poor track record when it comes to updating g-firmware.

However, this phone runs great as it is now so I am satisfied anyway. I was more thinking that with the G firmware one has the option to change to the A version which gets regular updates.
