The Mi 9's cameras are vertically aligned, while the OnePlus 7T's offer horizontal alignment. These two phones even have the same main sensor on the back, Sony's IMX megapixel sensor. The other two cameras on both phones are telephoto and ultra-wide shooters, which is kind of a standard these days. So, what are the results?

Well, both phones are quite capable in this regard. Neither of them is the best in the class, but they're both really good. The OnePlus 7T does tend to provide slightly better results across the board. Color reproduction in its daylight images seem to be a bit better, while both phones are on the same level as far as dynamic range is concerned. The OnePlus 7T does have an upper hand in macro photography, though, as it includes a special motor for macro photography.

You'll be quite content with the stereo setup on the OnePlus 7T, which is one of the main reasons it wins in this category as well.

Based on the 'winner' tag in the vast majority of these categories, you'd assume that the OnePlus 7T mopped the floor with the Mi 9. Well, that's not true, the Mi 9 is a really good phone, but in most of these categories it's a bit behind the OnePlus 7T. That said, the phone did stumble a fair bit when I fired up the camera. The app itself takes a second to load, as it did when I switched between modes. As for games, most titles ran smoothly with no hiccups, including Asphalt 9 and Shadow Fight 3.

Overall, the Mi 9 SE is no slouch, and it comfortably got me through a day of use, which included navigating with Google Maps, shooting photos, browsing, gaming, replying to email, and watching videos. With three lenses and a ton of software imaging features, the Mi 9 SE is a versatile shooter. The Mi 9 SE packs plenty of features and commendable performance into a small-ish package, and is a bargain at its asking price.

Most of the selfies under direct sunlight look nice but as soon as you are indoors on in the shadows, the colours appear washed out. Redmi Note phones have always had massive batteries to help Indian users go about their busy schedules and the Redmi Note 9 Pro ups that massively.

The new mAh battery is the biggest ever to be plonked in a Redmi Note and along with clever MIUI optimisations, this phone was easily lasting two days on moderate usage. The 18W fast charger included in the box is a nice touch but given that this is a bigger battery, I would have liked Xiaomi to include the 33W fast charger with this one.
